Many museums are suffering from the Covid-19 crisis and are looking for new digital products and services to generate revenue and to engage with the public
Like many other museums, the Kings Valey at Jelling, Denmark has been struggling with few or no visitors due to Covid-19 crisis. Without visitors, it is very difficult for the museums to make money. Therefore the Covid-19 crisis has had a devastating impact on the finances of museums, and indeed also of many other businesses across most sectors.
As part of the National Museum, the Kings Valey at Jelling has shown interest in testing whether Presuno can serve as a platform for a new digital product they want to test out: live-streamed guided tours.
Unlike virtual tours or pre-recorded videos, the ability to directly engage with a live online guide can help create a willingness in people to pay to experience the museum online. In the coming months, this will be tested at Kongernes Jelling both internally, as part of teaching school classes and to tourists abroad.
